The last day of a machinist!
Maryline, 62, 25 years of service at Métalia, Redon site.
Maryline is working her last day as a machining operator this Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She will be on leave starting tomorrow and will retire on August 1, 2026.
We decided to spend some time with Maryline on her last day with us and hear her thoughts on her experience at Métalia.
What will you remember most about these past 25 years? :
“I joined a company I didn’t know and learned the trade of machining. I wasn’t afraid of change. I felt right at home there over the past 25 years; I did interesting and varied work in a positive work environment.”
What do you wish for Métalia? :
“Keep moving in the same direction; let people continue to work together.”
What advice would you give to people who want to pursue this career? Or to those interested in learning more about the machining industry? To young people? :
“Don’t hesitate to try this profession—it’s very rewarding, and you’ll never get bored. Young people should give this field a try.”
On her last day, there was a festive atmosphere, with her workstation decorated and a necklace made from machined parts specially crafted for her. She was also presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by management.
We would like to thank Maryline for her professionalism, her daily smile, and the valuable contributions she has made to Métalia.
We wish him a happy vacation and a fulfilling retirement spent with his children and grandchildren.
Enjoy your retirement, Maryline!
